1) What has been your biggest disappointment/hardship since schools have been closed for the remainder of the academic year?

The biggest disappointment would be that I cannot finish the year in person. I transferred back to my base school for my senior year of high school, so it hurts that I am missing out on what I left for.

2) What are your plans for the fall?

My plans for the fall are to attend Belmont University to pursue a degree in music therapy.

3) How have your plans changed, if at all?

My plans have not changed very much. I now have an online summer orientation, but we are still planning on opening in the fall.

4) What have you learned about yourself since the COVID-19 closures?

I have learned that I really like being outside. Somedays I like to run around in my backyard, other days I just sit and write music, but overall I just enjoy the fresh air.

5) What is your passion?

My passion is music. For as long as I can remember, I have loved music. I am taking advantage of this time at home and I am trying to learn and refamiliarize myself with all the instruments in my house. I am hoping by the time I move to Nashville, I will have seven instruments under my belt.

6) Have you discovered a new passion in light of social distancing?

I have discovered that I really like to write music.

7) What are your hopes for the future?

I am hoping that with a music therapy degree I will be able to help people cope with the everyday struggles of life.

8) Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you?

One project that my mom and I have been doing together is making masks for a hospital in Nashville. While we know that we are not expert sewers, we are trying to help the cause. If everyone decided to do one little thing to help others, it would make a big difference that could change someone's life.

9) What are you most proud of about your school experience/best memory?

I am most proud of a service project that I did my junior year of high school. I wanted to help the young girls in my community, so I created a free one-day volleyball clinic that helped introduce them to volleyball, the importance of friendship and teamwork, and the value of good leadership.
