SCHS Students Exemplify SCHS Core Values
The South County High School Vision and Mission Statements stem from our Core Values of Honesty, Trust, Curiosity, and Hope. At South County, we strive to have Honesty and Trust for ourselves and others, so we may have Curiosity and Hope for our futures. Each month, students are nominated for demonstrating one or more of our Core Values. See what all of our amazing students are doing here.
Each month, staff members will nominate students who exhibit our core values of Honesty, Trust, Curiosity, and Hope. Students that were nominated in October were the following:
Ashlee H. - 10th Grade: Ashlee is a student who I can always trust to do the right thing. She follows the rules of the class and the school and sets an example for others. She does this with grace and with humor; she is liked and respected by her peers. She is a joy to have in our Advisory class!
Haylee M. – 9th Grade: Haylee has displayed her trustworthy nature in several ways. When she waits for her class to be opened before school, she has at least twice been entrusted with student projects/supplies for a later class. She is open in her communication with teachers as well. Thank you for being an excellent example of the Core Value of Trust!
Kari H. - 12th Grade: Kari is always looking for the next thing that needs to be done, the next teacher she can help, and she remains curious to learn and find opportunities to help. I am thankful to have her as a teacher aid and admire her work ethic.
Marcelina A. - 11th Grade: Marci believes that every person is full of potential and possibility. She cheers on her classmates and steps up whenever a peer needs help. When she finishes her work, she helps her friends if they're struggling or works with me if there's a job she can do in the classroom. She is filled with hope, bringing positivity and optimism into our classroom every day!
Matthew D. - 9th Grade: Matt exemplifies all the core values. He is an excellent, hardworking student, polite, respectful, and caring. Great Job Matt! Keep it up. I appreciate you, your values, and what you bring to Algebra class.
Oscar C. – 9th Grade: Oscar has done many things to earn this nomination: He consistently puts his curiosity to work and tries his best in class. He is honest in his dealings with his classmates and in his studies. And, most of all, he will support his friends through tough situations and find help for them when needed. Thank you Oscar.
Ryan M. - 10th Grade: Ryan is a trustworthy student who always comes to class well-prepared! He recently showed off his trustworthiness during a trade simulation in AP World History. Keep up the great work, Ryan!
Austin C. - 11th Grade: Austin is honest in all that he does, and he is never afraid to do the right thing. He is doing an awesome job this year!
Arianna H. – 10th Grade: Arianna's curiosity allows her to strive to become the leader of tomorrow by practicing leadership in our school community today.
Christopher H. - 12th Grade: Chris often performs random acts of kindness for his classmates. Several times I have witnessed Chris take down all of the student chairs at the beginning of class or collect up supplies for his tablemates without being asked. He demonstrates hope for us all for a kind and caring South County High School!
Katie K. - 12th Grade: Katie stood up for another student at a football game. She did this due to her own character, not because she thought someone was watching. She made sure to take into account everyone's feelings and was respectful in how she communicated. Katie's actions demonstrate hope for each other and our future!
Takari G. - 10th Grade: Takari is a bright young woman who loves to think outside of the box. Her intriguing questions in AP World History keep the class engaged and intrigued. Takari, continues to ask questions--We need more people in the world like you who are willing!
William L. - 9th Grade: William has an insatiable curiosity for science. When his biology class did independent research projects on cells, William had a question for each presentation. These questions were insightful and in-depth desires to expand his knowledge set, and he does not let his classmates distract from his quest for knowledge.
