Students Celebrate Black History Month with Family Reunion Event
The "Black Joy Family Reunion" at South County High School is a culminating, student-led African American History project. Students were introduced to the importance of maintaining cultural traditions over generations through community building. They created their own family reunion-style event using visual arts, music, performance arts, and cultural foods.
