Samuel Khoshaba

About Dr. Khoshaba
Dr. Khoshaba brings 20 years of administrative experience with him having served as a middle school principal for the past eight years and an assistant principal for the twelve years prior to that. He has significant experience at the high school level, working at two high schools in Chesapeake serving as both an assistant principal and assistant principal for instruction. His educational career also includes work as a school psychologist, special education teacher, and wrestling coach.
Dr. Khoshaba is a respected leader throughout his district and the state of Virginia, having been named the 2021 Middle School Principal of the Year by the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals. The hallmarks of his leadership include a true commitment to equity and inclusion and elevating student voice. His advocacy for student voice was recognized when he was named the Administrator of the Year by the Virginia Student Council Association. He is known for building strong and trusting relationships with staff and families and his work at his current school has been highlighted by a variety of educational media outlets in print and video. Dr. Khoshaba is a true instructional leader who values the importance of rigor and helping students to reach their true potential. His background as a school psychologist leads him to prioritize the well-being of each child and to focus not only on high quality instruction but the social-emotional skills that students need to be successful.
Dr. Khoshaba is honored to serve as the principal of South County High School. He looks forward to meeting and working with the school faculty and staff this summer to prepare for the upcoming school year. He is excited to welcome the Stallion students into the school building this fall. Though he was born and raised in Virginia, Dr. Khoshaba is proud of his Iraqi heritage and has strong family ties to this Northern Virginia area. He is excited about continuing his career in Fairfax County. He enjoys spending time with his family, figuring out a challenging Sodoku board, traveling and making a great cup of coffee. He’s also a huge Star Wars fan.
Dr. Khoshaba holds a Doctorate of Education in Education Administration from The George Washington University, a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Radford University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Christopher Newport University.

About Ms. Beskenis
Ms. Beskenis is excited to join the administrative team at South County High School, supporting the Math, CTE, and Fine Arts departments. She spent the majority of her career as an English teacher at McLean High School before transitioning to an assistant principal at Oakton High School in 2021. Ms. Beskenis is originally from Hampton, Virginia and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. She earned her Master of Teaching and certification in Administration and Supervision from UVA as well. When she’s not at school, Ms. Beskenis enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling with her husband and son.
Ms. Beskenis’s passion for centering and empowering student voice has been a primary driver throughout her career, and she is thrilled to bring that passion to the South County family as the newest assistant principal.

About Ms. Pirouzan-Jones
Mrs. Pirouzan-Jones is excited to start her eighth year as an assistant principal. She has been an educator in FCPS for the past eighteen years and began her career as a special education teacher at Annandale High School. Mrs. Pirouzan-Jones has also supported FCPS as a special education department chair, assessment coach, and school-based technology specialist prior to becoming an assistant principal.
On a personal note, Mrs. Pirouzan-Jones is an FCPS graduate. She graduated from George Mason University, earned a master’s degree in Special Education from the George Washington University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration from the George Washington University. When Mrs. Pirouzan-Jones is not working; she enjoys spending time with her family.

About Mr. Caven
Mr. Caven is excited to be in his 9th year at South County High School as an Assistant Principal. He began his career as a 7th grade Science teacher at Hayfield Secondary School before becoming an Assistant Principal at Mark Twain Middle School. He made the jump to high school administration as an Assistant Principal at Fairfax High School before returning home to the Lorton community.
Mr. Caven is from Portland, Maine and graduated from the University of Virginia in 2001. He earned a Masters degree in Education from James Madison University before beginning his FCPS career, which now spans over 22 years. In Mr. Caven’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, hiking, biking, and spending time on the ocean.

About Ms. Tolan
Ms. Tolan is looking forward to working at South County High School supporting the exceptional education department. Ms. Tolan began her career in special education at Fairfax High School, and has served in a variety of student-focused roles for the past 11 years.
Ms. Tolan is a native of Northern Virginia. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of South Carolina, and then returned to Northern Virginia for her master’s programs at George Mason University. Ms. Tolan wants to encourage all students to continue to grow in their academic, social, and mental health capabilities through strength based education.
Ms. Tolan loves Gamecock Football, Capitals Hockey, and supporting students in their extracurricular endeavors at South County High School.

About Ms. Garrison
Ms. Garrison is excited to start her sixth year as the Director of Student Services at South County High School. She began her career in FCPS as an Elementary Teacher at Cherry Run Elementary School in 1993. While teaching at Bonnie Brae Elementary, she began to pursue her Masters in School Counseling at George Mason University. She obtained her first school counseling job at South County when they opened as a Secondary School in 2005. Ms. Garrison was named the Director of Student Services at South County High School during the 2017-2018 school year.
Ms. Garrison is a Coast Guard brat whose greatest joy is spending time with her parents and her three grown sons. She aspires to carry the mace at a South County graduation!

About Mr. Wooten
Mr. Wooten is entering his 16th year in education and his 6th year as a Director of Student Activities. Last year, Mr. Wooten joined the Stallion family after spending 1 year as the Director of Student Activities at Meridian High School in Falls Church and 3 years as the Director of Student Activities at Woodbury High School in Woodbury, Minnesota.
Prior to his assignment as Director of Student Activities, Mr. Wooten served as the System of Support Advisor at Hayfield Secondary School for three years. Before Hayfield, he served as a Health & Physical Education teacher and Head Football Coach at South Lakes High School.
Mr. Wooten is a native of Reston, VA where he graduated from South Lakes High School before earning a football scholarship to Howard University. Mr. Wooten is excited to begin his second year with the South County Community.

About Mr. Mims
Mr. Mims is in his 4th school year at South County High School as the Systems of Support Advisor (SOSA). He began his career as a Social Studies teacher in Tallahassee, FL. Mr. Mims has teaching and leadership experiences from West Potomac High School and Annandale High School.
Mr. Mims is from Prince Georges County, Maryland. He graduated from Daytona State College and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. He earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from FLORIDA A&M University. In Mr. Mims’ spare time, he enjoys spending time with his mentees, jet-setting, playing tennis, cycling, and hiking. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Kaitlyn Price

About Ms. Price
Mrs. Price is very excited to join the administrative team as the Dean of Students this school year. She has been an English and Leadership teacher at South County High School for the past 14 years and also served as the English Department Chair. Mrs. Price will be focusing this year on attendance, MTSS, student intervention, discipline support, and student recognition.
Mrs. Price is from the Philadelphia area and is a proud graduate of The Pennsylvania State University (WE Are!) with a degree in Secondary Education English/Communication. She has two masters degrees from George Mason University: Educational Leadership and Initiatives in Educational Transformation.
Outside of school, Mrs. Price loves spending time with her husband and her two sons. She loves reading, watching football, and going to the beach.
